I not only play a super hero on the internet, I happen to be one in real life too

Check out my muscles. I single-handely moved over 170 old cinder blocks. I borrowed a truck, drove to Gulf Breeze, loaded up the blocks into the truck (admittedly, I did have a little help there), drove back, unloaded, stacked, and then repeated until they were all done. And I brought the little girls with me too. I love them, but they are not helpful when it comes to moving heavy stuff.
The ultimate goal is to create a bunch of raised garden beds and fill them with real good dirt and hopefully be successful at growing something in the future.

See how that shovel is sticking up in the dirt (har har, I mean worthless sand)....that shovel represents the fact that I should rent a tiller but it's not in my Dave Ramsey-approved budget. Fortunately, I have budgetted for a chiropractor appointment very very soon.

Another rough draft. you see those holes in the cinder blocks? Those will someday hold nice cascading flowers or tasty herbs...

Tonights show has Golden Valley Electrical fixing the lines in Fairbanks, in December (think: really really dark), -40some degrees.

In case you weren't aware, I lived there (the Interior) for almost 4 years. That was enough. (For me anyways, some people really seem to dig it...)

Oh, the shows over now. I've descovered a flaw in Geo's reporting- he claims that it's hard to find an outlet in Alaska. To that, I say HA! They have rows and rows and rows of them in the Fred Meyers parking lot! easy peasy

The good news, the bad news, the shocking news

Good News- I'm a week and a half away from completing my final class needed to graduate with the coveted whoopdeedoo degree (aka Associate of Arts). It's taken me a mere 10 years.
Bad news- I only today looked into the process of applying to receive my degree. Apparently you are supposed to submit the paperwork TWO semesters in advance!?!?! They do have a late application process, so at earliest I'll be an official graduate in December of this year, and if UAA decides not to consider me for late application approval, then I'll be looking at officially graduating in May 09. yeah, seriously- blechhhh
Shocking News- My current GPA is *drumroll please* 3.60! So I would actually be an "Honors" graduate. LOL. This may be shocking only to me and my mom and my dad....Obviously if you are reading this, you know I am incredibly gifted in the intellect department (har har) but I am a classic case of "Fails to apply themselves-ness." I'm a big time slacker (case in point- my extended procrastination of actually researching the graduation process, plus the fact it took me a decade to get a 2 year degree!). I've never completed anything honorably- I'm typically thanking my lucky stars and remarkable good looks (har har) that I've completed anything at all!
So there you go.

If you had told me a month ago that it would ever look this good, I would have called you a liar.

And here they are being weird. They like to play "Mommy and Baby" a lot, but they prefer to start their game from pregnancy. Looks like Aevyn's due any day now...

I Miss Alaska

My sister and Kylie went back up to visit our parents in Alaska. Lucky ducks got to got fishing!
I'm going to guess that they went on a charter since my folks don't have a boat anymore (or do you? sneaky sneaky moma and dad)

Ok, lame. It probably would have been funnier if the dog were actually a collie. No? Alright then it's lame all around. Maybe my dad will laugh at it.
I am not actually meloncollie, I just wanted to show off the fact that I have a melon growing, and it's better then the "Check out my juicy melons" joke. This is a family show, folks.
By the way, the dog is not mine. We are pet sitting.


And if I can keep the dog out of the garden, or should I say "garden," then maybe I can keep attempting to grow stuff.
So far I've decided that I am a decent flower farmer.

Real 4th of July

We live in such a progressive town....

We are so ahead of the times that we celebrate the 4th of July on the 3rd!
I got the girls all set and we walked to the park and listened to a great band and watched spectacular fireworks. I even remembered my camera! But not the memory card.
Way to go mom
And so we came home with no pictures of our fun times.
The girls were pooped out so thankfully they fell asleep quickly! Gotta love that.
So here's some foot updates. Looking great- isn't it amazing?

I'm so over it
Gardening, that is
First I fried my peas (lesson learned- don't believe "organic gardening remedies" just because it was published online...). Then some creature is eating my tomatoes as soon as they ripen, same goes with the watermelons. Now my corn had a fungus! I had to tear it all down so it didn't spread spores to everything else.
And nothing else is growing at all. So I have no squash or cucumber updates or anything. pfffft

My flowers are growing pretty at least

Bad, bad corn... so pathetic
