Halloween Practice Run

Here's some real cute costume kids to look at.

We have a witch (in ancient, ok- only 20 year old, costume) and a scarecrow.
Halloween night, we'll be joined by cousin Kylie in her Dorothy costume and Aunt Amy in her tinfoil pinhead hat. I'm going to try and squeezy into Myah's lion hat. Pictures will be taken, of course

We dressed up tonight so we could go to our YMCA's Trunk-or-Treat. Pretty much kids collect candy from people sitting in the back of their SUVs. I'd never heard of doing that before, but the kids are always happy to partake in new and different sugar-collecting activities

Friends, Fall, Florida

One of my favorite things is to show off pictures of us at the beach in the middle of January.
It's not January, but it is October, and it's cold and snowy in Alaska. So lookey here Mom- neener neener neener....

Not only did we go to the beach, we got to go with some out-of-state friends (Bonus points to the person that can match up my friend with her blog that I have linked in the right hand side----> )

Every 4 Year Old Needs 2 Soccer Trophies

Myah just wrapped up her Fall Soccer season (yes, there are 2 YMCA soccer seasons here in Florida. And yes, we felt the need to sign her up- again)

People, who shall remain nameless, have tried to rain on my Happy Parade about Sarah Palin. Whatevah
I don't care, because I know Alaska Girls Kick Ass (I know because I read it on the T-Shirt. T-shirts have also taught me that Alaska girls are "Wild And Organic").


Today, 2 truly kick-ass Alaska girls proved their kick-asseyness by standing in the blustering rain (a torrential downpour, as my Great One would say) for about 2 hours, just to support one of their own.

Florida Governor Charlie Christ was there too. He waved right me when I said I liked his tan.

4 YEARS OLD NOW!

Not a day goes by that I'm not totally amazed at how quick these kids grow. But *WOW*- 4!!!

To celebrate, we got to bring cupcakes to Myah's preschool class. It was our first time to do this time-honored school tradition, and Myah thought it was awesomeness.

Aevyn got to share the special seat with the birthday girl, and they dove right in. Literally, both of them just crammed their faces in, and Myah left plenty of evidence in her teeth:

Catching Up: Part 2

YESTERDAY was Myah's 4th Birthday!
But before I can get around to posting those pictures, I have to show off our Virginia trip first; it's only fair.

It was a fast and furious trip. We planned for awhile to go to Kyle's cousin's wedding. Driving is cheaper then flying, so we had to alot time for that. And then a day of our trip got cut out because I enrolled in a class that I needed to get back for. And then Aevyn and I ended up having to go to Alaska...so the schedule went something like this: Get home to FL on Tuesday, leave Wednesday night, get home the following Monday. 2 days driving up, 2 days driving home.

It was good to see some family though. Grandpa lives in North Carolina, so we got to see him. It didn't take the girls long to warm up!

Myah was absolutely enchanted. You could see the wheels turning in that darling little head of hers... We spent the rest of the evening talking to her about the benefits of eloping to Hawaii
