Mardi Gras 2009

Its that time of year again!
Girls just want to have fun. And look like Elton John.
Mamy Jo Jo, and Shawn in the background stuffing his face
A sea gull pooped on Kobi, and he sought revenge
That parade took so long to get started. Good thing we brought friends and snacks
FINALLY!
It was a very draining day, indeed

School Pictures

One of the girls' current favorite games to play is "preschool." They, of course, are the teachers. Except for when Myah decides there's only one teacher and she's IT.
I don't know what the rules were today, but it was preschool picture day.
All the toys were carefully lined up and Max (the baby I watch sometimes) was plopped in the middle. And tahdah!

Of course, we had to do the individual shots too. I won't bore you with faceshots of the teddy bears

Aevyn Griffin

Friends, Fall, Florida

One of my favorite things is to show off pictures of us at the beach in the middle of January.
It's not January, but it is October, and it's cold and snowy in Alaska. So lookey here Mom- neener neener neener....

Not only did we go to the beach, we got to go with some out-of-state friends (Bonus points to the person that can match up my friend with her blog that I have linked in the right hand side----> )

No one is looking at the camera, but this is the only picture I got with everyone in it. Well, almost everyone

"Cheese!"

We forgot to bring swimsuits. That's not a problem for Taylor though!

Someone keeps up on their blog

But not me. Not so much, anyways.
If you'd like to see some pictures of Myah's birthday party with her friends, look here http://budgetchicks.wordpress.com/2008/10/14/the-birthday-bash/

It was a Harvest Festival theme, and oh-so-cute.

4 YEARS OLD NOW!

Not a day goes by that I'm not totally amazed at how quick these kids grow. But *WOW*- 4!!!

To celebrate, we got to bring cupcakes to Myah's preschool class. It was our first time to do this time-honored school tradition, and Myah thought it was awesomeness.
All the kids fought over who would get to sit at her table:

Aevyn got to share the special seat with the birthday girl, and they dove right in. Literally, both of them just crammed their faces in, and Myah left plenty of evidence in her teeth:

And then the next day, it was Present Day!

Thanks AvaElizabeth and Zoey!

Aww, Aevyn wants presents too. Who could blame her?

Wow!

My bug ate Angela's bug

And then pooped him out on my windshield.
For reference, here's the link to Angela's bug http://bellavitaphotos.wordpress.com/2008/07/28/that-son-of-a-i-mean-southern-lubber/

My mom tried to *pinch* that bug.
No she didn't, she just wanted to do a comparison. Unfortunately, she made it kind of hard to see this monster. If you look close, you can get the idea though

Pool Par-tay

It's all about framing things in a certain way, right?
So today, instead of a bummer "going away party" for a good pal, we're thinking of it as a Pool Party (there was a pool there, and we did get-down to-funky-town-party-hardy)
I was in the pool not taking pics of most of it, so this is all I got:

Singing in the car on the way there. Doowop, doo wop. Pickin toes too.

The coolest kids in the room

An entire gang of coolest kids. Boy, are they cool.

Hi, I'm Shay I.N.F.Peabrain

Inspired by Miranda (http://www.those2joneskids.blogspot.com/), I retook the Myers-Briggs personality test. Not surprisingly, I was an INFP. I've been an INFP since I first took the test about 15 years ago in Confirmation Class.

So.....If you want to take the test, here's a link
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp
If you take the test, post your results in the comments section. I want to see what you are so i can judge you (I mean, I will "perceive" you- that's what I do as an INFPer). I did this once with a bunch of buddies and it was very illuminating. I had my husband take this test and it turns out he was exactly opposite from me in every area! (Lol, makes so much sense)

Here's a description of my INFP-ness:

People of this type tend to be: quiet, reserved, and kind; deeply passionate, sensitive, and easily hurt; loving and dedicated to those close to them; creative, original and imaginative; curious and flexible in small matters; nonconforming. The most important thing to INFPs is their is their deeply held beliefs and living in harmony with their values.

Too much fun for one day, there should be laws against that

We drove far and away to go take some pics with some pals. More to come about this later when Angela gets around to editing and photoshopping the frizzies out of our hair.

But for now- Myah. This girl was born to pose
Even after a hard day at work on being an official preschooler, she still is auditioning for a Tyra Banks show

Aevyn fell asleep in the car and wasn't sure she wanted to wake up for any of this nonsense

You can't just preschool and model all day. The well-rounded three year old must stop to smell the flowers

Sharing

the sharing continues. AAaawwwwww

The whole gang. Can you find us? It's like a crazy Where's Waldo.
Actually, in that setting- at that old house- it looks like we are a bunch of big hearted socialites that just picked up a gaggle of orphans at the old-school orphanage. (or....maybe like we're dropping them off? Just saying...) Happy people

With Friends Like Emily...

There's this product out there, The Rose Petal Cottage. It's a smashing success with every little girl I know.
What's a Rose Petal Cottage? Here's the ad

So I mention to one of my BFFs, Emily (also the mother of 2 adorable and brilliant little girls), that this Rose Pedal Cottage toy couldn't possibly be any girlier if you strapped a certain female body part to it.
Of course she had to buy it and send it to my girls. And of course, they absolutely LOVE it!

Greater Good Music Festival

How we celebrated Myah's birthday
