If you don't like gross foot pics, look away now

These are amazing healing baby feet!
It still looks bad, but nothing compared to a few days ago.

Kind of weird and shiny, but looks like an almost normal size and shape of a foot

And see how happy she is to be on the mend?

And a token new haircut photo, because she's adorable. She looks like she's 5, huh? (Actually in this outfit she looks like a baby Eve Ensler for peeps who know who that is....)

Myah makes the cut

Yes, another day another haircut. This time *Thank Goodness* it was on purpose and by a professional.
Myah, the hairiest girl in the world has spread some of that good hair-lovin around by donating a ponytail to make a wig for a sick child.

Look at that beautiful hair! I sure will be happy not to have to wash it, brush it, braid it, repeat, etc anymore!

Awww, she's so happy! This was an exciting day for us

Measuring out the hair...

That ponytail is going to make someone very happy! I'm very proud of her!

And look at how lovely Miss Myah is!

Healing

She's been running around like crazy, despite my objections. She's just not the kind of kid that will stay still for anything!
So her blisters are all pretty much popped now.
Sorry for the gross pics. People want to know how she's doing, so here it is for your viewing...it's just easier to show pics then try to describe it.
Her left foot has a couple little baby blisters on it, but you'd hardly know it at all.
Her right foot looks like this:

It's kind of soggy-looking because she has had the cream (silvadine? something like that anyway) and bandages on constantly. It kind of looks like she's just been in the bath too long and has gotten all wrinkly.

The white wrinkles this time is the skin, not the cream.

The bottom of her foot-

Now here's some cute pics

Mugging for the camera, silly girl. You know she's all right when she acts like a goofball!

All bandaged up.

And Myah trying to get in on the action. Big sisters need attention too

Poor, poor baby

So this is what happened.
I was making dinner and Kyle was packing for his deployment- he was supposed to report last night around 10pm-ish. The girls were playing in the backyard, as they do all the time. We have a fenced backyard and the kitchen window faces out back so I can watch them while I cook. They wandered over to our brick fire pit, which they know that they waren't supposed to do. But like any off-limits thing, it's ultra exciting and they like to walk on the bricks like a balance beam.
A little background- we had a fire in there on Thrusday night, a full 24 hours before last night's incident. The fire burnt out and Kyle sprayed it and surrounding areas with water like he always does. And then we thought nothing else of it, especially in the face of Kyle deploting....
well, Aevyn fell off the bricks and into the pit. And apparently the coals were still hot underneath it all and she got burnt and started howling bloody murder.
We were out the door in under 3 minutes.
Anyways........ER-tylenol 3-bandages-daily follow-up appointments-and an upcoming surgical consult on Tuesday to make sure she won't have movement impairing scars.

Kyle was able to leave last night as expected. He just got permission to show up several hours later then the original report time. So I have no pictures of sad girls because the kids were fast asleep when he left.

I do have gross foot pictures though. This is from today's check-up. The pictures were taken on my cell phone, so not great quality.
The white is the cream and her skin looks a little wrinkly from the bandages. The blisters are real and even uglier in real life

After our appointment this morning, the girls and I had to go meet up with some friends and some filmakers. A British documentary company wanted to get us and a couple friends talking about our experiences with donating breastmilk, so look for us on the Silver Screen! I'll be the one with sleepy eyes and the little short-haired bandaged girl.

Kyle's gone now and we are already missing him. We aare blessed to have a good support system though. I came home this evening to find about a dozen messages on our answering machine from our pastor and church ladies and the commanders wife, just calling to see what they could do for us girls.

I think we're going to be ok. Just need some sleep now
